Our advice work puts us in an ideal position to observe the impact of government policy on the lives of our clients and local community.
Campaigning for change is one of the twin aims of Citizens Advice. Research and campaigns help us to shape and influence local and national policy by raising awareness of key issues and advocating on behalf of our clients.

We are currently involved with two local research projects looking at housing and life on low income.
A Place to Call Home
Our research suggests many households in privately rented accommodation across Burnley and Pendle are living in non-decent housing. Our aim is to understand why this is and work towards removing the barriers that prevent people from finding a safe and secure place to live.
An Income to Live By
We are working with Citizens Advice offices across Lancashire, looking at how people cope when they do not have enough money to meet their essential needs.
You can help provide valuable feedback towards this campaign by completing the survey below. It should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will help us campaign on key issues relating to living on a low income.
We are an independent charity providing free, impartial and confidential advice to people living in Burnley, Nelson, Barnoldswick and Colne. We exist to help people find a way forward, whoever they are, whatever their problem.
